The oldest living jazz record label in the great state of Texas is Fable Records™ started, In 1973, Michael Mordecai began his journey into the record industry by jumping in with both feet. Nothing any different from a thousand other entrepreneurs except that Michael was determined to build his label for Austin Jazz.
Hailed by Billboard Magazine as the turning point for contemporary jazz in Austin’s early stages, Michael continues that mission today adding some of Austin’s finest up and coming jazz artists to the catalog.
