Matt Wilson Band is celebrating their newest release, Volume 2000 – 2010, with a CD Release Party at The Rattle Inn, 610 Nueces Street, TONIGHT Friday, May 11th, 2012 at 9 PM. No cover charge. Love Mom Gourmet Lunchbox  will be providing munchies because “Mom” loves Matt, his fans, and his music.

Volume 2000 – 2010 takes a look back at the recordings that defined the band from 2000-2010. Available at Waterloo Records and On-line Retailers,  Volume contains highlights from “Revolving Doors” (2004), “Matt Wilson-EP”(2010) and “Press On-EP” (2011). All tracks off of Volume 2000 – 2010 were produced by Scott Mathews of Tiki Town Studios.

“The band has been singing these tunes at our shows for some time now,” Matt reflects. “Before we started an entirely new record, I wanted to remaster our favorites and release them together.  We are also celebrating the 1st decade of the Matt Wilson Band, ten years of my company Matt Wilson Entertainment, and ten years with my manager, Michael Mordecai. It just seems to make sense that we look back one more time before we move forward.”

 Matt adds, ” It’s fun for the band to listen to what we sounded like then and how the writing and sound has changed over the years.  That being said…I know, most certainly, that this material will be new to a lot of people, so in many ways Volume is a new release.”

 ”Matt Wilson is considered one of the hottest young pianists in the country today,” ravesThe Houston Weekly of his performances as the piano man in the original Broadway touring production of Billy Joel and Twyla Tharp’s musical “Movin’ Out.”

 Wilson’s high energy, engaging entertainment has its roots in church gospel (his father is a preacher) that spread through his piano playing in the style of Ray Charles – a style of musicianship not often seen these days. He says, “I live for that audience energy and spontaneous interaction. To me that’s what the music is all about.”

While this is their first CD as Salúd, Javier and his band mates are no strangers to audiences. Javier, a Peruvian born virtuoso violinist and the current concert master for the Brazos Valley Symphony, has recorded with many artists and released “Mis Canciones”, his first CD in 2009 showcasing his talents as a singer songwriter. Paul Glasse, a Texas Hall of Famer and world renown jazz mandolinist, has three CD under his own name. Mitch Watkins has recorded five of his own critically acclaimed jazz CDs as well as produced many others.

Stephen Jarrard and Laura Mordecai complete the group on vocals, guitarron and percussion. Together this quintet presents Javier’s original songs in a blend of styles and genres that celebrate the joys of life, friendships and love.

Travels take me to Scottsdale, Arizona today.  Thoughts for Fable have been (and may continue to be) dreams rather than action items as BBA continues to grow.  Dreams are simply another form of reality and the dreams continue to grow, too.

Lately, the dream for Fable has been drifting northward.  I will trek into the frozen tundra with my lady to search for the buried sounds from the Motown era.  The distress signal emanating from the “Paris of America” has reached us.
